Moscow has been one of the five cities in the world - in addition to London, Hamburg, Bonn and Munich - in which the massive implementation of subcutaneous microchips has started, which can be used as public transport tickets or payment cards, Newspaper RBTH.

The creator of the project, Patrick Kramer, a well-known German biohacker, and director of the company Digi will deploy 15 chips to 10 volunteers during his visit to Moscow. According to the doctor, the popularity of these implants continues to grow worldwide.

"Curiosity is the main reason for installing the chip. There are people who do really fantastic things with them. A friend of mine has 11 microchips installed in his hands, for him it is a kind of hobby. And for me it's a great social and communication tool, "he told the media.

In total, there are between 30,000 and 50,000 people in the world who have these microchips installed. In 2012, Moscow system administrator Serguei Sorokin was one of the first people in Russia to have it. The man recognizes that the use of the chip "is perceived as something magical" and that "99% of the people who see it, are fascinated." Meanwhile, the Russian engineer Vlad Zaitsev not only uses the chip as a ticket for public transport but also to enter his office.
